KI Park Summer Event 2024
A full day of keynotes, workshops, masterclasses, networking and summer fun has happened on the 16th of May! The whole KI Park office was buzzing with energy, smiles and excitement 🤩
With each passing year, this traditional event has become more and more of a place for people to reconnect, meet old friends and look at the state of AI together. This time, we did a rocket progress:
4 simultaneously working event areas within KI Park: Rather than holding the Summer Event at Brewdog as previously, we opened our North Side office, which enabled us to hold keynotes at two stages simultaneously and hold workshops and masterclasses in two more rooms at the same time.
50+ speakers: We welcomed over 50 speakers at this year's event, including keynotes from NVIDIA, Vitesco Technologies, Deloitte, Schaeffler, PSWP, Informatica, ML6 and many more esteemed speakers. All the speakers were from our member-companies, so this Summer Event was by community and for the community! 🤝
400+ invite-only guests: We were delighted to host over 400 invite-only guests: and more than 70% of KI Park's 160 member companies joined our event, when the rest were friends and partners of KI Park. It was a great pleasure to see our ecosystem come together in such a heart-warming way.
We are very thankful to each and everyone of you who has joined our Summer Event and we are looking forward to welcoming you again next year!
Executive Circle: AI Driven Next Generation Compliance

KI Park events across Germany and beyond!
Easter couldn’t be “celebrated” more productively – on the 2nd of April the event "LLM Explainability, Mitigating Hallucinations & Ensuring Ethical Practices," co-organised with Google Cloud and Frontnow, has taken place at Google Berlin!
The main takeaways from the keynotes: 👾Hallucinations by LLMs can invent facts, which is problematic for factual consistency but may enhance user experience in creative tasks. 👾 Hallucinations should be addressed as part of the systems LLMs operate within, not just within the LLMs themselves. This is crucial for creating robust systems that can identify and correct hallucinations. 👾Analysing the objectives of LLMs and comparing them with each other helps to identify and resolve problems. 👾 Involving humans in AI evaluation ensures balanced oversight and enhances dataset quality. 👾The use of LLMs requires careful consideration of the cultural and contextual implications of their output. This helps in anticipating and addressing potential issues of toxicity and bias in diverse cultural contexts.
On the 29th of May, we have held jointly with German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce two events in one day: a workshop titled “Developing AI use cases that matter: a live Case Study“ and the Applied AI Meet-Up, that presented four topic tables to our participants. d-fine experts Markus Seifert, Todor Dobrikov and Ulf Menzler showcased the process of discovering an AI use case, and then all the participants had an opportunity to learn more about other AI use cases at Topic Tables devoted to Healthcare, Finance, Construction and Communication.
The key takeaways from the day are: ✅ Understanding the different value drivers behind AI projects (commercial value, reputational value, promotion, etc) is crucial; ✅ For implementing AI use cases that matter, one needs to translate the value drivers behind an AI project into concrete KPIs and set benchmarks that a use case may reach to steer the development process; ✅ Data availability and quality are key. This access needs to be maintained beyond the implementation; ✅ One needs to understand each company’s specific needs and operational context to identify valuable AI use cases.
40 CEOs of the most influential Berlin companies, all part of the VBKI Berlin industrial network, met on May 7 at KI Park. Dr. Florian Schütz welcomed the guests of the evening event with his opening speech and talked about the latest AI topics that have occupied the over 150 members of KI Park over the past year and are still the focus of work at KI Park.
The highlight of the event was the keynote by Prof. Dr. Sabina Jeschke titled "Beyond the Present: The Evolution of Computing in the Era of 5G and Beyond" 📡💻 Sabina's call to action emphasized the rapid progress of technology and highlighted the importance of 5G and the upcoming 6G. Her speech focused on how these technologies will eliminate latency issues, revolutionize data transmission with satellite networks, and improve the safety of autonomous driving. She also discussed the transformative potential of quantum computing and its impact on reducing the energy consumption of high-performance computers, thereby resolving the conflict between green technology and high performance 🌱🔋
Following the keynote, there was an insightful lecture by Maik Ludewig and Dr. Hubertus von Roenne from VBKI/CEOs for Berlin, who discussed the EU AI Act, presented their current AI use cases, and talked about the progress still needed for business success 📈 KI Park members eduBITES and logsight.ai also gave their keynotes.
